Those children from Year 5 who had stayed on green for the majority of the year were extremely lucky as they were chosen to attend a trip to the Tomlinson centre to listen to a presentation from Ben Lyttleton the author of "Football School". These are a range of books which teach children different  curriculum subjects through the prism of football. The children took part in 4 quick "lessons" taught to us by the author. Biology was taught in relation to club mascots and a maths quiz was based on international goal scoring records! The highlight of the trip had to be when Ny'esha was chosen to take a penalty in front of the  audience and come up with her own goal celebration (she scored of course!)  Members of the Premiership were in  attendance and as one of only four schools to be invited, we were very proud to represent Mandeville at this event.
